Study in Sweden in Spring 2026

Sweden is a modern, innovative, and inclusive country that offers high-quality education, strong research infrastructure, and a safe environment for international students. If you’re a Pakistani student aiming for Spring 2026 intake, this guide explains everything you need to know — from programs in English, tuition fees, application steps, visa requirements, to English test scores.

Programs Available in Spring 2026

While most programs in Sweden begin in Autumn, a limited number of English-taught bachelor’s and master’s programs open for Spring (January) intake.
  • Bachelor’s Programs: Rare for spring. Most undergraduate programs begin in the Autumn semester.
  • Master’s Programs: Some universities like Jönköping University, Dalarna University, and Linnaeus University offer spring-start master’s programs, mostly in Business, IT, and Tourism.
  • PhD Programs: Open year-round. PhD positions in Sweden are treated as full-time salaried jobs, not regular student admissions.

📄 How to Apply
  • Your dependents can apply together with your own student residence permit OR submit their application after yours is approved.
  • All applications are made online via the Swedish Migration Agency website.
  • Their residence permits will be issued for the same duration as your student permit.

This is a major advantage of Sweden’s student visa policy compared to other countries. 🧒 Education for Children Children can attend school in Sweden for free. Public education is available for all resident children, and schooling is mandatory from age 6 onwards. 📝 Documents Required for Dependents
  • Valid passports
  • Marriage certificate (attested) or relationship proof for cohabiting partner
  • Birth certificates (for children)

  • It’s recommended to apply for dependents together with your own residence permit to avoid delays.
